In the fifteenth year of the reign of the Emperor Tiberius, Pontius Pilate being governor of Judaea, and Herod tetrarch of Galilee, and his brother Philip tetrarch of Ituraea and Trachonitis, and Lysanius tetrarch of Abilene, during the high priesthood of Annas and Caiaphas, the word of God came upon John son of Zechariah in the wilderness. Camp Wapiti Summer Positions

Camp Wapiti Summer Counselor, Instructor and Staff positions are filling up fast. All interested persons must have their applications in to Mark Retz no later than March 13. Wapiti Volunteer Work Day on April 28

April 28 from 9am - 4pm (lunch provided). Come help us build the tent camp facility that will support our campers for an entire summer of camp fun! The more assistance we get from the people of our diocese the more economical it will be for us to build the facilities and prepare for camp this summer.


An Evening to Support the Temple Campus Ministry on April 13, 2007

Please mark your calendars and join us as students in our Lutheran Episcopal Campus Ministry at Temple University prepare and host a formal dinner to support our ministry at Temple, featuring cuisine prepared by Chef Tell. The dinner will be held on Friday, April 13 (6PM) at the Church of St. Luke and the Epiphany.

The evening will include gourmet food, dancing, and much more. The cost will be $75 per person, with proceeds going to support the ministry. For more information or to sign up, email revgreg@temple.edu

On January 6, 2007 the 223rd Convention of the Diocese of Pennsylvania resolved to strongly urge me as Bishop and each congregation to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the signing of legislation abolishing the Slave Trade in the United States.

Presiding Bishop briefs Church Center community on Primates' Meeting

[ENS] Presiding Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori on February 23 told the community of people who work at the Episcopal Church Center in New York that the new structures asked for by the primates in Dar es Salaam, and the clarifications they want about the Episcopal Church's stance on blessing same-gender relationships and partnered gay and lesbian priests becoming bishops, can be a "container" in which the Anglican Communion can continue to discuss issues that many Anglicans would rather avoid.

Lenten Devotion: Crucifixion Painting by Gerard Di Falco

As part of its Lenten Devotion, Philadelphia Episcopal Cathedral will display a painting of the crucified Christ by award-winning artist, Gerard Di Falco.

The acrylic-on-canvas, entitled "ALTAR PAINTING: CHRIST'S CRUCIFIXION AND THE SOLAR ECLIPSE", will be in place until April 4, 2007. The cathedral, located on 38th Street between Market and Chestnut, is open to the public everyday for worship services, meditation, and visiting.

Christian Peace Witness for Iraq on March 16, 2007

The 75th General Convention passed Resolution D020 to "call upon all Episcopalians as an act of penitence to oppose and resist through advocacy, protest, and electoral action the continuation of the war in Iraq, and encourage the President and Congress to take proactive steps to end our participation as soon as possible."
